Upcoming Free Legal Clinics and Financial Assistance
TransOhio in conjunction with its community partner Equitas Health will be holding a free legal clinic again in Columbus Wednesday, September 20th from 6-8 PM at Equitas Health 4400 N. High St in Clintonville. Financial Assistance is available to help applicants with this process through TransOhio after your consultation and document preparation with volunteer attorneys.
TransOhio in conjunction with Equitas Health and community partner Heartland TransWellness will also be offering this same free clinic and legal assistance to greater Cincinnati area community members at a clinic held at Heartland TransWellness 103 William Howard Taft Dr. Cincinnati, Ohio on Tuesday, September 26th. from 6-8 PM.
Three new Free Legal Clinics for Name and Gender Marker Changes have been announced and more are in stages of development for the Fall of 2017.

From 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, on Friday August 11th, Transgender Military Recognition Night will take place at Summit on 16th United Methodist Church, 82 E. 16th Ave., Columbus, OH 43201. Come to honor our current transgender members of the military and our transgender veterans by celebrating their right to be a part of the U.S military. Everyone is welcome to join the Central Ohio transgender community and their allies to counter Trump’s blatant discriminatory exclusion. In harmony with the military sacred rule, we declare: “We don’t leave our transgender folks in uniform behind.”
The evening is scheduled to include an address by LGBT Veteran Care Coordinator and enrollment Social Worker, Jessica Holman, as well as shared experiences from five or more trans military speakers, including veteran Alvy Clark, and the four others shown above, left to right, veterans Jody Davis, Jenny Serene Isenstadt, and Tara McKenzie Allison, as well as active officer Jonah Minot
Join us for the Annual TransOhio Unity Picnic filled with fun and food. Transohio will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, vegetarian and vegan options and bottled water. We ask everyone bring- if they are able- a side dish, snacks, desserts and other drink options. Remember no alcohol is permitted at this facility. Plenty of parking and private bathrooms and feel free to bring lawn and table games. Children, families and friends welcome. See you at the Shadblow Shelter of Blendon Woods on Sunday the 13th!!
