This year TransOhio got back to our roots and coordinated a statewide trans joy project through the form of a zine celebrating our trans joy.
The form for submission is now live for the next one, though we are still determining the broad topic. Submission link will be the same: https://tinyurl.com/TransOhioZine
There were 3 qualifications for submission for the 2023 zine:
you must be trans/non-binary/gender non-conforming
live in Ohio
your submission must be about how how some aspect of being trans has given you joy or fulfillment
All submissions meeting those criteria will be included.
The deadline to submit an entry is May 20th.
Everyone with an included submission will receive a free copy of the zine. We hope to have both print and digital copies available.
Submissions of joy can come in any form of expression that speaks to you that can be reproduced in print media. Some examples of content types: short stories, essays, poems, art, statements, pictures, comics, jokes, shared moments, doodles, photos, and everything else in-between. No submission is too small in length or degree: all joy is valid. Our trans joy is resistance and power and we're very excited to showcase that.
100% of proceeds from printed editions of the zine will go towards TransOhio's gender and name change mutual aid grants.
